The approach track to WEE WiLDS — golden morning rays streaming through beech and oak on a misty autumn morning

Our Place

A home, not a hotel

WEE WiLDS is the name we trade under. The place itself is Glentruim — a farm on the old Glentruim estate, five minutes from Newtonmore, inside the Cairngorms National Park.

Maria and Robert live here with their family. The hens are real, the dog is real (a sprocker spaniel called Furgus, not allowed in the bedrooms), and breakfast is made fresh each morning in the kitchen. You're staying in a home. That's the point.

Guests have four B&B rooms in the main house and two standalone glamping pods — each with their own en-suite, their own front door, and their own atmosphere. The pods are on the hillside above the house, the B&B is the house itself.

You can walk out of the front door and be on the hill in minutes. That's why most people come.

Cairngorms National Park

The Cairngorms is the largest National Park in the UK — bigger than the Lake District and Snowdonia combined. It sits at a higher elevation than the rest of Scotland, which means more reliable snow in winter, wilder weather on the tops, and air that smells different when you step outside.

Glentruim is at the southern edge of the park. Speyside is an hour east. The West Coast is an hour west. Inverness is an hour north. Most guests underestimate how much they can get to.

What you might see

Red squirrel at WEE WiLDS — a wild red squirrel perched on a fence post

Red squirrels live in the trees around the property. Deer are common on the hill above the house and along the river. Hares appear in the fields year-round.

Dark skies here are exceptional — the Milky Way is visible on clear nights. Aurora sightings happen several times a year, usually in autumn and winter.
