WiFi
Network: WeeWilds · Password: none
Just connect — no password needed. The same network covers the pod, the main house, and the grounds.
Mobile signal can be patchy in the Highlands. EE tends to have the best coverage in this specific area. Turning on WiFi Calling in your phone settings on arrival means you can make and receive calls over the WiFi connection.
Heating — Nest thermostat
The pod has electric underfloor heating and a wall heater, controlled by the Nest thermostat on the wall. It stays warm year-round.
You can adjust the temperature on the Nest. The maximum is 22°C — this is pin-locked and cannot be increased. If the pod feels too warm, you can reduce it.
The thermostat is set to drop slightly between 10:00 AM–4:00 PM (while guests are typically out) and 10:00 PM–6:00 AM overnight. This is normal — the pod will warm up again quickly.
Hob — 2-plate electric
Standard 2-plate electric hob. Good for a fry-up, pasta, or anything straightforward. Works with any standard cookware. All pots and pans in the pod are compatible.
Microwave
900w microwave with grill function. Standard operation — power levels and timer on the dial/buttons.
TV — Roku
24-inch HDTV with a Roku streaming device. Available services: Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, BBC iPlayer, ITV, YouTube, and Plex.
The TV can be a little slow to respond after pressing buttons — give it a few seconds before pressing again.
Your own streaming accounts are not pre-loaded. You can sign in to your own Netflix, Disney+, etc. if you want to watch your own content. If you do, please let us know before you leave so we can log back into our own accounts — and remember to sign out first.
Shower
Thermostatic shower. Set your desired temperature and allow 30–60 seconds for the water to reach that temperature before stepping in.
Hot water is provided by an instantaneous gas boiler — it's unlimited and ready immediately. No need to wait for a tank.
Deck — slippery when wet
The timber deck can become slippery in wet or icy conditions. Take care when stepping out, especially first thing in the morning or after rain. In winter, the access path can also become snowy — winter tyres are recommended for Highlands travel between November and March.
