The larger of our two glamping pods, set at an elevated position on the property with views to the hills to the west. Step through the double glass doors onto your private timber deck and you're looking out over the strath — hills, trees, sky. That's it.
Inside, everything you need and nothing you don't. King bed, a proper en-suite shower room, kitchenette with hob and microwave, and underfloor heating that keeps the pod warm right through winter. The 24" TV has Netflix, Disney+, BBC iPlayer and more — for the evenings when you'd rather not move.
It's self-contained and private, far enough from the main house to feel like your own wee place on the hillside.
Our wildlife feeder cam sits about 60 metres from the deck — you can watch the red squirrels live before you arrive, then see the same patch of woodland in person from here.

Access
The pod is reached via a 60-metre grass slope. We recommend a soft holdall rather than a wheeled suitcase — dragging wheels over grass is hard work. Check-in is from 4pm; the key is in the door on arrival.

- You can arrive at your pod any time after 4pm. Check-in is self-service, so there's no need to tell us your arrival time. An earlier arrival is sometimes possible, but only by agreement with us in advance.
- The lead guest must be at least 21.

Frequently asked questions
- Where do I park?
- Parking is free, with one marked space for each room and pod. B&B guests: please park in one of the four marked spaces by the house when you arrive. Pod guests: follow the "Glamping Pods" signs (a blue P sign with an arrow) to the pods' own parking area, which has two marked spaces, one for each pod. From there, the Muckle Meadow Pod is a 60-metre walk up a grass slope behind the stable, and the Cosy Coorie Pod is about 30 metres along a gravel path. Bringing a second car? It's rare, but just let us know in advance.
- What time is check-out?
- Check-out is by 10am for all our rooms and pods. Please be ready to leave by then so we can get things ready for the next guests.
- How is the pod heated?
- Muckle Meadow Pod: electric underfloor heating throughout, which gives an even warmth from the floor up. Cosy Coorie Pod: electric heating. Both pods have a Nest thermostat on the wall next to the front door: the round, puck-shaped device. Press the screen to wake it, then turn the outer ring clockwise to raise the temperature or anticlockwise to lower it. The display turns orange while the heating is running.
- What cooking equipment is in the pod?
- Muckle Meadow Pod: a 2-plate electric hob, 900W microwave with grill, fridge, kettle and cafetière. Cosy Coorie Pod: a portable induction hob (IKEA TILLREDA), 750W microwave, fridge, kettle and cafetière, plus a covered gas BBQ area outside. Both pods have full crockery, cutlery, glasses, pots, pans and utensils for four.
- Is there a BBQ?
- Cosy Coorie Pod: yes. There's a covered gas BBQ with a flat griddle and a preparation table. Unlimited gas and BBQ utensils are included. Please clean the BBQ after use. Muckle Meadow Pod: no BBQ.
- Can I bring my dog?
- We're sorry, but no. We can't accept pets in any of our rooms or pods, because we're surrounded by livestock.
- Are children welcome?
- Children and infants are welcome in all our rooms and both pods. We should be honest, though: Glentruim isn't specifically set up for families. The pods are made for two (15 sqm and 21 sqm) and not really suited to families. The B&B is a homestay with shared spaces, not a self-contained family home. For guests with infants, we have one travel cot with a mattress and one highchair for the whole place, shared between the B&B and the pods and offered first-come first-served, so ask when you book. In line with NHS guidelines, we don't provide bedding for the cot, so please bring your own.
- Is there WiFi?
- Yes. Superfast WiFi covers the whole property, including every room and both pods, and there's no password to enter.
- What time can I check in?
- Any time after 4pm. Check-in is self-service, so there's no need to tell us your arrival time. If you'd like to arrive earlier, ask us in advance and we'll say if it's possible. Check-out is by 10am.
- How accessible is the path?
- Access is via a 60-metre grass slope. We recommend soft holdalls rather than heavy wheeled suitcases, as dragging wheels over grass can be difficult.
