WiFi

Just connect — no password needed. The same network covers the whole house, both pods, and the grounds.
Mobile signal can be patchy in the Highlands. EE tends to have the best coverage locally. Turning on WiFi Calling in your phone settings means you can make and receive calls over WiFi.
AGA
The kitchen has an oil-fired AGA — the large cast-iron cooker. It is always on and always hot. You do not need to switch it on or off.
The AGA heats the kitchen as well as cooking. It has a baking oven, a roasting oven, and a simmering plate on top. Toast is made using the toaster rack on the simmering plate.
Cooking on an AGA is easy once you understand it — if you're not sure, just ask us and we'll give you a quick demonstration. Guests are encouraged to use it over the electric hob.
Please keep the lids down as much as possible when not actively cooking — this keeps the hotplates at temperature and the kitchen warm.
Electric hob
A standard electric hob is positioned next to the AGA. Available for guest use, though the AGA is the preferred option for most cooking.
Microwave, kettle & fridge
Microwave and fridge are in the kitchen and available to guests. The dishwasher is also available; please rinse items and leave them by the sink for the hosts to load.
The kettle is a traditional hotplate kettle that sits on the AGA simmering plate — it's always hot and ready to use.
TV in your room
Every room has a large HDTV with streaming services: Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, BBC iPlayer, ITV, YouTube, and Plex.
Your own streaming accounts are not pre-loaded. You can sign in to your own accounts if you like. If you do, please let us know before you leave so we can log back into our own accounts — and remember to sign out first.
Room heating
All rooms have central heating with a radiator thermostat. Hot water is always available. Adjust the thermostat on your radiator to your preferred temperature.
Shower
Thermostatic shower (en-suite and shared shower-room). Set your desired temperature and allow 30–60 seconds for the water to reach that temperature before stepping in.
The towel warmer is on — use it to warm your towels before your shower.
Shared shower-room (Forest & Garden Double)
The shower-room is shared between the Forest Double and Garden Double only — both rooms are on the ground floor. It is next door to the Garden Double, and down the hall from the Forest Double. The extractor fan runs automatically.
